Austcorp’s flagship Brisbane and Gold Coast projects have taken out two prestigious awards during the past few months.

On the 16th June the group’s Coomera Waters eco-masterplanned community on the Gold Coast won a High Commendation in the National Australia Bank Award for Masterplanned Communities at The National Property Council of Australia’s Rider Hunt Innovation and Excellence Awards 2007.

The national awards, staged at Star City Casino and Hotel in Sydney, reward industry innovation and leading practice in Australia’s property investment and development industry across a variety of categories.

The Masterplanned Communities category recognises the nation’s best designed and most innovative masterplanned developments of more than 250 dwellings.

Coomera Waters was one of nine finalists in the category and one of only two finalists over the entire evening to receive a High Commendation.

Austcorp followed up its success at the Property Council awards with another win at the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Suncorp Queensland Awards for Excellence in Brisbane on the 22nd June, 2007.

Austcorp’s $900 million Vision tower in the Brisbane CBD jointly won the Marketing Excellence Award, in recognition of the iconic building’s success in achieving sales worth more than $200 million following the commencement of construction in March, 2007.

Austcorp’s Queensland General Manager Kerry Spencer says both the UDIA and Property Council awards recognise the very best in the Australian development industry.

“We are thrilled to have received this level of recognition for Vision and Coomera Waters as we’ve always viewed both of these projects as real jewels in our development portfolio,” Mr Spencer said.

“Coomera Waters is completely unique in the way it weaves thoughtful planning, architectural excellence, natural open spaces and water-based facilities with key environmental values to create a genuine community - we’re very proud of what we have delivered there."

"And there is no doubt that Vision has captured the imagination of the Brisbane apartment market, as the level of sales demonstrates clearly with more than 60% of the building secured."

Coomera Waters is located at the hub of the northern Gold Coast growth corridor, off Foxwell Drive at Coomera.

Since launch in 2001 it has grown to become one of the northern Gold Coast’s most sought-after communities, offering a host of lifestyle features including a 17 hectare harbour, with deep water ocean access for the 72 berth marina, and a thriving marina village.

Environmentally sustainable development principles are incorporated in first-class amenities including water management and conservation system, building standards that promote energy efficiency and liveability, use of environment-friendly reticulated gas or solar hot water, and native flora and fauna protection measures.

Coomera Waters residents enjoy a wide range of community services and facilities, including over 20 kilometres of walking tracks, 24-hour security service, two resident recreation clubs featuring swimming pools, tennis courts, a gymnasium, barbecue facilities and volleyball court, and the marina village shopping and business precinct.

The community also has easy access to the M1 Motorway and rail link. Other key community facilities include public and private schools, with future infrastructure to include university and TAFE campuses, library, shopping and entertainment in the planned Coomera Town Centre.

Vision will be Brisbane’s tallest building and is under construction on a 5,485-square metre city block site spanning Margaret and Mary Streets.

When complete it will comprise 54 floors of residential apartments, 13 levels of commercial office at the base of the tower, a three-level podium accommodating retail, restaurant and associated activities, a major public plaza at ground-level and seven levels of underground parking.

Services akin to a five-star luxury hotel will be a unique feature of Vision, including Brisbane’s first 24-hour, 7-day concierge in a residential building. Mirroring a hotel reception desk, the concierge will offer extra services such as picking up theatre tickets, holding dry cleaning and facilitating tradesmen’s entry to apartments.

Other features include a residents’ private media and theatre room; a dedicated Business Centre; a Wellbeing Centre complete with gym and swimming pool, along with a separate residents’ pool, sauna and gym; and a 5-star restaurant on the 62nd floor. The restaurant will sit just above Vision’s 2000 square metre observation deck, which, built over two-levels, is set to become a major tourist attraction for Brisbane City.

Apartments are priced from $487,000 to $3,940,000.

The completion of Vision is expected by early 2012.
