Increasing environmental awareness and growing demand for eco-friendly lifestyle have given Coomera Waters, an EnviroDevelopment awards winner, a strong market performance during the last financial year.

And the market leader is off to another strong year, with recent new releases drawing strong buyer interests.

Coomera Waters is national property developer Austcorp Group Limited’s signature eco-residential development, located on the Gold Coast’s burgeoning north shore.

The 376 hectare community, which integrates a water-based lifestyle with natural bushland reserves, has recorded over $229 million in total settlements since its launch in September, 2000. Property value has also grown significantly over the life of the project.

In February Coomera Waters recorded its highest sale to date – a waterfront home for $2 million. The average land price for non-waterfront land during the last financial year was in excess of $256,000 compared to just over $100,000 in 2001.

Austcorp’s State Manager for QLD & NT Land, Scott Biggs, said the year ended on a high note with the two stage release of Evergreen High.

“The pent up demand saw 80% of Evergreen High Stage 1 sold just four months after the first release in January, so much so that we had to fast track the second release in May to keep up with the market,” Mr Biggs said.

“The interest in the second stage has been phenomenal, with only 12 of the 37 homesites remaining in the release. The commanding view offered by the elevated site is so attractive that sales continued during a usually quiet period of the year.”

Mr Biggs said the development of Coomera Waters is up to the 22nd stage of 30 stages and this would see the completion of the master planned community in another four or five years time.

“Coomera Waters reached a major milestone in September, 2007 welcoming its 1,000th purchaser. It has become one of the Gold Coast’s most desirable communities to live in, with more than 2000 people now calling it home,” he said.

Located just east of Dreamworld on Foxwell Road, Coomera Waters is based around a 17-hectare harbour and a 72-berth marina with deepwater ocean access.

More than 50 per cent of the land area is dedicated as nature reserve and the community is threaded by over 20 kilometres of eco-walking trails. Community facilities include two “residents-only” rec clubs including swimming pools, tennis courts, gyms, barbecue facilities, activity rooms and a beach volleyball court.
